Pat, a friend of mine in Ohio, has been retired from real estate for several years and she’s been taking advantage of sitting in on courses offered by the University of Dayton, free of charge to seniors. She loves the variety of topics plus the fact that it keeps her mind active.
I love talking with her about the latest courses she is taking. She always has something interesting to share. And I don’t keep it a secret that I’ve always been a little envious. First, I am not a senior yet and second, I don’t have the time to get away to drive to a class. But I’ve found a way to eliminate those two barriers, and I’ve already signed up for my first class.
FREE Online University Classes
If you have a good internet connection, then you’ll be able to take advantage of these free university classes that are available online. I just signed up for an Introduction to Philosophy course through Coursera.org. I’ve always been interested in this topic. I took a philosophy class in undergraduate school and enjoyed it. But if you are like me, sadly I’ve forgotten most of it. It will be fun to “sit in” on these without the pressure of taking any tests.
There are a number of websites that have free university classes:
