Moving In? Be Sure to Change Your Door Locks
We recently moved into our Sharps Chapel home and one of the very first things we did was change the locks on the doors. We bought the house from a very nice family, and this is no reflection on them, but you never know who might have a key.
Being new to the area, we asked the locals for some advice. The owner of the facility where we dropped off our U-Haul trailer, that we used for moving down some household items, recommended John Henderson of Henderson Locksmith Service (865) 992-4942, located south of Maynardville, TN.

John’s wife answered the phone and she relayed our message to John who returned our call that evening. We were able to schedule an appointment for a couple days later. John arrived on time and got to work right away — making it look easy. I know my husband, Jim, was glad he did not try to do it himself. He would not have had the right tools.
John was friendly and a good sport about putting up with all our newbie questions about Sharps Chapel and Norris Lake. When lunchtime rolled around we made another hamburger for him and invited him to sit down. This surprised him to no end and he said he couldn’t remember when he was last invited for lunch while on the job. We enjoyed learning about how John started his own business and how he liked to hunt and fish. He shared with us how to make a turkey-feeding station to attract them. This is definitely on my to-do list.
John did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him.
Oh, about those ‘unknown’ keys floating around… I went to introduce myself to a couple of my new neighbors a day or two later and one of them mentioned that he had been given a key by the previous owner “just in case”. He didn’t have to tell me, but he did. That is one key. I wonder how many more are out there.
